Eric Frankel Discusses Current Trends in the Industrial Sector

In this brief podcast, Eric Frankel explains that growth in global trade and local consumption has historically driven industrial demand. While these measures have not been particularly outstanding recently, inventory levels have been rising at a much faster pace than U.S. retail sales, which is creating demand. Amazon builds multi-story warehouses by installing mezzanine floors and its average warehouse has twice as many people within a 100-mile radius than a traditional Walmart distribution facility. Frankel remarks, “This tells you where these distribution centers will be located over time – closer to population centers.”
