Michael Knott

Michael is a Managing Director and leads the U.S. REIT Research team. He has been at the firm for 22 years and plays a key leadership role in Green Street’s research. Michael’s initial tenure at the firm spanned 2002-2018. He rejoined the firm in 2019 after serving as the Chief Financial Officer for EQ Office, Blackstone’s U.S. office platform, in 2018 and 2019. Previously during his Green Street career, Michael co-led the U.S. REIT Research team and led coverage on several real estate property types, including over ten years following the office and self-storage sectors, and initiated Green Street’s coverage of life science and data centers. He also led or participated in coverage of health care, industrial, net lease, diversified REITs, and lodging. Michael is a two-time recipient of The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” award for stock picking in the real estate category. Prior to Green Street, Michael worked in REIT investment banking at A.G. Edwards from 2000-2002. He earned a B.A. in Economics with Distinction from Indiana University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder.
