About Pierre:

Pierre has been with Green Street’s Advisory & Consulting team since 2014. Born and raised in France, he studied Hotel Administration at the Center of Hotel Management in Paris and Real Estate Finance at Cornell University. Before joining Green Street, he worked for a valuation consulting firm in Ohio focused on the hotel industry, as well as in management and operations roles at various hotels throughout France. At Green Street, Pierre takes on a variety of projects across asset types, with clients ranging from small institutional owners to global corporations. Pierre can’t stand sugary American candy and can often be found at Crystal Cove State Park.

"American candies have way more sugar than European candies. I hate it. I need a croissant."

We craft a story for each client. One of the best projects I worked on – and actually one of my first projects at Green Street – was to evaluate a potential spin-off of one of the largest restaurant chain’s real estate assets. The project was very data-driven, but our conclusion had to consider so many other, more subjective factors, which made for a very unique story. Our team traveled to their headquarters a few times to meet with the management team and share the story we had crafted for them. It was pretty amazing to share our conclusions, to explain the story.

There are no routine projects, which is one of my favorite things about my job. I’ve never worked on a recurring project. The time flies every day because there are so many things to do, so many topics to brainstorm about, and so many different projects to work on.

I have a very unique background, I think. I came from Marseille, France, and wanted to become a pilot. I actually started an aerospace training program but then left for Paris, where I started working for a hotel. I had the opportunity to work at hotels like the Ritz Paris and the Four Seasons while studying Hotel Administration at the Center of Hotel Management in Paris, then I came to the U.S. to study for a Master’s of Real Estate Finance at Cornell University. I’ve always wanted to come to the U.S. and I’ve always wanted to work in Real Estate. I just enjoy it.

I took a vacation a few years ago and didn’t understand the difference between Los Angeles and Laguna Beach at the time. There was this cute place in Laguna Beach, where I ended up staying, and I fell in love with the place. I immediately started looking for a job in real estate consulting near Laguna when I got home. It was a dream come true when I accepted Green Street’s offer and moved here. I’m very outdoorsy – I hike all the time – and it’s just amazing to be able to do it 12 months a year. Everyone wants to go to the South of France, and it’s a beautiful area, but I think it’s more beautiful here; there are places that are so pristine.
